initiatives THIS SEASON 2018 - 2019

At Marin Juniors, we are constantly challenging ourselves to evolve - to find new ways to develop our players and teams and provide great experiences for everyone involved. Striving for continuous improvement brings change each season. As we approach 2019, here are highlights of programs that we’re continuing to build upon to help take our program to the next level:

College Recruiting

We’ve partnered with Vball.live to provide guidance for the college recruiting process. Dan Kaplan, involved in the process for over 20 years, will be working with our club athletes to help you navigate the collegiate process. He will come out once or twice per season to give an informational talk and then work individually with families.

Advanced Position Development Program

Senior coaches have been assigned roles of Position Specialists and will work with players throughout the season and off-season. Players will have the opportunity to work with these coaches across multiple seasons to foster long-term development. Position specialist coaches will help with player analysis, training and goal-setting. Learn more about our Advanced Position Development Program.

Video Analysis

Last season we had teams begin to use our video analysis service, Krossover. This service allows us to upload as much game and practice footage as we'd like. They also offer a breakdown service that helps us analyze matches, provide valuable insights, and create reels of game clips that players can use to create highlight videos and coaches can use to create film study.

Here are some examples of the insights (shot chart) that Krossover will provide:

And here is an example of a highlight reel that can be easily assembled using Krossover:

Each team will need to have parents who are willing to help capture and upload video.

Expansion of Marin Beach

Our inaugural Marin Beach program was a success. Under the leadership of Lisa Gera, the season kicked off with over 70 players participating in the Santa Cruz Beach event and continued throughout the summer, highlighted by a trip down to Santa Barbara. With the new courts being added at College of Marin this past summer, we look forward to a fantastic 2019 season.
