Stacy is a three-time Olympian and silver medalist. She played with the US Women’s
Volleyball team for 15 years and was the first to ever play the Libero position. She is
considered one of the best to ever play, winning awards such as Best Libero and Best
Defender at the World Championships and USA Volleyball Player of the Year. Prior to
her professional career, she was a two-time all-American outside hitter at Texas A&M
where she also played basketball for a year. Her freshman year in track she won the
Southwest Conference championship in the Heptathlon. Stacy was a 5A high school
all-state athlete in four sports.

In April 2011, on track to compete in her 4th Olympic Games with the #1 ranked team
in the world, Stacy’s team bus overturned on the way to a match in Brazil. Stacy was
the only one seriously injured. She sustained a brain injury and was in a coma for four
days and paralyzed for five days. She was given a 20% chance of survival but
overcame those poor odds to make a run for the 2012 Olympics. Unfortunately, she
was unable to complete her run and was forced to end her volleyball career due to
vision issues sustained in the accident.

Stacy has maintained the amazing energy and positive attitude she is well known for
by teammates and fans. She is a motivational speaker and continues to be involved
with volleyball. She runs camps and has coached the USA Select A1 National Team
(USA U16 National Team), the 2015 US Women’s Junior National Team and the US
Girl’s Youth National Team. She has also been an on-air analyst at the FIVB World
Championships in 2014.

Come out on Friday night to hear her story, ask her questions, and meet this amazing athlete. And on Saturday, join Stacy in the gym as she puts on a clinic for the Liberos and Defensive Specialists in the club. (Details coming soon)
